Extended warranty denied a cracked block, 3 weeks of phone tag later I get nowhere
Back in April my 2017 Silverado started knocking real bad on the way to work in Tulsa. Towed it to a shop, they said cracked block, about a $6,500 job. I had that extended warranty I paid $2,800 for two years ago, figured this was the whole point of it. Called the warranty company, they said the shop needed to send tear-down photos. Shop sends them. Warranty guy says the photos show pre-existing wear and denies it. I asked for the exact clause in the contract, they said "we'll email it." That email never came. Called five times over three weeks, each time a new person reads the same script and tells me to wait 7 to 10 business days for a review. Finally asked for a supervisor, got a callback after I left a message saying I'd file with the state insurance board. Supervisor said the denial stands because of "lack of documented oil changes." My paperwork showed every 5,000 miles at the same dealer. He said their system only shows two records, so they don't count the rest. So now I'm out the repair cost plus what I paid for the warranty. Has anyone actually won a dispute like this, or is it just a game of wearing you down until you give up?
