Bought the dealer warranty first, then compared to a credit union plan after a $900 repair
I mean, after my water pump blew at 61,000 miles in Phoenix, the credit union's exclusionary policy covered it in full while my old dealer one had a $250 deductible and a loophole list, so has anyone else run the math on these two before signing?

I read a Consumer Reports piece that said dealer warranties are basically a gamble on fine print, and credit union plans usually have cleaner coverage with lower deductibles. Your $900 repair story is exactly the kind of math that makes me never sign a dealer contract without checking the other side first.
