Shoutout to the service manager who talked me out of a $2,800 repair

Last month my check engine light came on in my 2015 Outback, and the dealer quoted me $2,800 for a new transmission control module. Before I signed anything, the service manager, a guy named Rick, pulled me aside and said 'let me check the grounds first, this might be a 20 minute fix.' He found a corroded connector, cleaned it, and charged me $60 for the diagnostic. It's been 900 miles and no light. Has anyone else had a dealer shop try to upsell a whole part when it was just a bad wire or connection?
