Stared at my fridge for 45 minutes trying to make a meal happen
Got home late last night, super hungry, and just opened the fridge door. I had half a red onion, a jar of capers, a block of cheddar, some leftover roast chicken, and a nearly empty tub of sour cream. I just stood there, door open, for what felt like forever. My brain could not connect the dots at all. I kept thinking 'there has to be a meal here' but I was too tired to see it. I ended up just eating the chicken cold with my fingers, which was pretty sad. I know I could have made something decent, like a quick chicken salad or thrown it all in a pan for a hash, but I totally blanked. Has anyone else had a fridge full of stuff that should work but your mind just goes completely empty?
