A neighbor lady saw my half-empty fridge with leftover broccoli and a jar of pickles and told me to make a quick stir-fry with peanut butter

She said just chop the broccoli, toss it in a hot pan with some oil and the pickle juice for 2 minutes, then stir in a spoonful of peanut butter and serve over rice - has anyone else tried something weird like that and had it actually work?

Wait was it the pickle juice she said to use or just the liquid from the jar? Because that makes a big difference. Pickle juice has vinegar and salt which could actually work for a quick sauce but if its just brine from sweet pickles that might be weird. Did she say how much peanut butter to use cause too much would just make it a sticky mess. Ive done stir fry with leftover veggies and soy sauce plus peanut butter before but never with pickle juice involved.

Honestly I used to think pickle juice was just for chasing shots or brining chicken but this actually makes sense. The vinegar and salt in dill pickle brine would cut through the peanut butter's richness just like soy sauce does in a pad thai situation. I've had a jar of half-sour pickles in my fridge for weeks and now I'm kinda curious to try a tiny bit mixed with peanut butter and sriracha on noodles. Might be a weird experiment but your stir fry idea proves the concept works already.
