Last Wednesday I picked up from a plaza in Nashua. Address looked right but the kitchen was boarded up. Called the customer. Turns out the ghost kitchen moved three blocks over six months ago and the app never updated. Driver before me already took the first order and probably pocketed the food. This happens once a week now. Anyone else chasing phantom restaurants that dont exist?
Back in '09 I used to draw fiber lines on paper napkins and manila folders. Now I just pull up coordinates on my phone. Crazy how much faster it is, but I kinda miss the feel of a sharpie on paper. Anyone else hold onto old habits from their early days?
I ran a small dog treat bakery out of my kitchen for 6 months using my regular dishwasher to sanitize pans and piping bags. It took forever and stuff never came out fully dry. Last week I grabbed a used commercial unit off Craigslist for $300 and honestly it cut my cleaning time from 40 minutes to 12 minutes per load. The heat cycle actually sterilizes everything too. Has anyone else switched to commercial gear for a home side hustle and seen a massive difference?
I took this pet first aid and CPR class last spring because I wanted to be ready for anything at the station (we find animals in fires sometimes). The instructor was great honestly, but the cert expires in two years and I've never once used the skills on a real animal. Has anyone else dropped money on a niche certification that felt necessary at the time but turned out to be a total waste?
I deliver packages out in the rural areas around here. Last week I dropped off a box to an older guy who keeps bees in his backyard. He said most store honey is basically sugar syrup because they filter out all the good stuff. Ever since then I've been getting raw honey from him and my seasonal allergies are way better. Anyone else have a random conversation that flipped how you see a regular thing?
