Unpopular opinion: I saw a post here with a fridge full of just ketchup and beer, and the 'meal' suggestions were a joke.
If you're not even trying to keep real food around, maybe this community isn't for you, so what's the most useless single item you've ever had to work a meal around?

Honestly, a single jar of maraschino cherries once led to a surprisingly decent stir fry.

That's actually genius! The sweet syrup from the cherries makes a killer glaze for chicken or pork. Toss in some bell peppers and onions, and you've got a sweet and savory thing going on. It's one of those weird fridge clean-out wins that just works. Might have to try that next time I'm stuck for dinner ideas.
