Warning: That $500 'client finder' course almost wrecked my first year
Bought it in January thinking it would solve my slow start. The guy just rehashed basic stuff you can find for free and his 'secret method' was basically cold emailing. Felt like a total scam and set me back months. Anyone have a legit resource for getting your first few freelance gigs?

Classic case of a guru selling the dream. Their secret sauce is always just spam with a fancy name. Sorry you got burned, that really sucks. For real help, skip the courses and just hang out where your clients actually are, like specific online groups.

Remember that guy selling the "LinkedIn magic" system last year? Total scam. He just told people to copy-paste the same message to hundreds of strangers. Saw a ton of folks get their accounts flagged for spam. Felt bad for them, wasting cash on that junk.
