My main client's payment system crashed right before rent was due

It happened last Tuesday, and they said it would take a week to fix. I had about $2,500 stuck in their system. I had to quickly message three past clients for small rush jobs to cover my bills. Has anyone else had a big client's payment just vanish like that? What's your backup plan?

Totally agree, a week is wild. From what I've seen, that kind of delay usually means they're backed up with a huge queue or waiting on a specific part. It can feel like they're just sitting on it, but sometimes the fix itself is quick and the wait is all logistics. Still feels awful when you're the one stuck without your thing.
