Just read that roses are the most stolen flower from gardens

I was looking up some local plant theft stats for my area and saw a police report from Sacramento. It said roses account for over 40% of all flowers reported stolen from yards and public spaces. I guess it makes sense because they're popular and easy to spot, but that number is wild. I've had a few cuttings go missing from the shop's display bed out front and now I'm looking at my bushes differently. Has anyone else had to deal with this, or am I just in a bad neighborhood for rose lovers?

My neighbor's prize hydrangea vanished last week, so you're not alone.

Man, that reminds me of the great tulip heist of 2018 on my block. Someone dug up every single red tulip from the parkway beds overnight. Left the yellow ones, just took the red. We had a neighborhood watch meeting about it and everything. The theory was a rival gardener from two towns over. Never did find the culprit.

Wow, @evan295, I read that some thieves even take whole mature rose bushes overnight.
