Just figured out I've been overcomplicating my rose arrangements for years
A bride in Austin pointed out my bouquets looked stiff, and she was totally right. How do you guys keep things looking loose and natural?

Actually, wiring every stem is what makes them stiff in the first place. You can get that loose look by hand-tying the bouquet instead, which lets the stems move more freely. It feels weird at first, but it gives you a much more natural shape.

What kind of stems are we talking about here? I found that really thick ones like amaryllis or sunflowers actually look way better when you just strip the leaves and let them lean naturally against each other. The trick for me was stopping myself from cutting every stem to be perfectly straight across the bottom. If you stagger the lengths and let some stems curve out to the sides instead of pointing straight up, it takes five minutes and looks like you fussed over it for an hour lol.

Yeah, that's a super common trap. I stopped wiring every single stem and started grouping a few blooms together with tape first, then building out. Let some stems cross each other, and don't trim everything to the same exact length. What kind of roses are you working with?
