I tried a local flower farm versus a big wholesaler for a month
For a wedding in May, I bought half the roses from a farm near Salem and half from the usual big supplier. The local blooms lasted five days longer in the vase, no joke. But they cost about 20% more and the colors weren't as uniform. Which side do you pick for your shop, better quality or better price and choice?

Honestly I'd go with the cheaper supplier every time. Most customers just want the look for the day and won't notice the extra vase life. That price difference adds up fast on big orders.

Totally agree. I've never had a single client ask about longevity, only if it looked good when they walked in.

Ha, true enough! Most clients barely peek past the front row of flowers anyway. That price gap is just too hard to ignore on the bottom line.
