A bride in Austin told me my bouquet looked 'too wild' and asked if I could 'tame it down' with more roses.

I spent 3 hours carefully picking local wildflowers to match her 'rustic chic' theme, but she just pointed at the larkspur and said 'that looks like a weed, can you take it out?' so now I'm wondering if anyone else has clients who don't trust the vision they asked for.

Man that drives me crazy. It's like people want the idea of something unique but then get scared when it doesn't look like a picture from a store. I see it all the time, not just with flowers. Someone asks for a custom, handmade thing because they want character, but then they try to edit all the interesting bits out until it's just basic again. They hire you for your eye but don't trust what they see. That larkspur probably made the whole bouquet look alive.

Maybe they just want what they asked for.

Actually think @tylermurray is onto something. People hire an artist then try to do the art themselves. That larkspur was probably the best part.
