Warning: My old deck boards were a real mess after 15 years
I had to pick between replacing them with pressure-treated pine or composite. Went with the composite stuff from Home Depot, cost about $2,100 total. It took me and my buddy two full weekends to get it all down. Anyone have tips for keeping the new composite from getting too hot in the sun?

Should've just stuck with real wood.

Ask @victor_ward what kind of real wood they're thinking of. I mean sure, solid hardwood looks great and lasts forever if you take care of it. But have you ever tried refinishing a real wood table after someone spills red wine or leaves a hot pan on it? That's why laminate and engineered wood exist in the first place, because real wood is a pain to maintain in a busy kitchen. Plus the cost difference is huge when you're talking about a whole dining set for a family. So I'm curious, Victor, are you talking about real wood for the frame or the whole thing including the top?
