Warning: Learned the hard way that paint needs to be stirred way more than you think

I spent like 3 years doing whole rooms with paint straight out of the can. Then last month I was painting my bathroom in Austin and the color looked totally off until a neighbor walked over and showed me the pigment sludge at the bottom. Has anyone else just been lazy with stirring and gotten bad results?

Man stirring paint is such a pain but yeah you really gotta do it. I had this can of blue paint and it looked fine on the stir stick but after I painted a whole wall it came out way darker than I expected. Did you actually use a drill mixer or just a stick?

@andrew854 you use a drill mixer? I just use a flat stir stick and that works fine for me. Maybe you didn't stir it enough, or that blue paint was just a darker batch. I learned the hard way to always test a small patch first before doing the whole wall. Saves you a headache.
