Thought I was a master painter until I peeled off the tape wrong

Spent 6 hours taping my living room in Austin, painted it nice, then ripped off the tape and took half the paint with it. Turns out you're supposed to cut the tape loose with a razor, not just yank it. Anyone else learn that the hard way?

Dude you had to learn the hard way too huh? I did the exact same thing in my hallway and wanted to cry when I saw all the paint peeling off.

Thought I was a master painter" - that line stings because I felt the same way my first time. Did the exact same thing in my bathroom, spent a whole weekend on it, and then watched the paint peel off in long strips like cheap wallpaper. The razor trick is a lifesaver but I swear nobody tells you that until after you've already messed up a wall. At least your living room is in Texas where nobody visits to see the damage, right?

That razor trick is one of those things you just gotta learn the hard way I guess. And yeah nobody's stopping by my place in Texas either so I figure we're safe for now.
