The guy at Lowe's who insisted I use a framing hammer for flooring

I was at the Lowe's in Akron last Saturday grabbing a new rubber mallet for a click-lock vinyl plank install I've been putting off. This older guy in a stained flannel walks up and dead serious tells me I need a 22-ounce framing hammer instead, said mallets are for "soft people." I asked if he's ever actually installed LVP and he just grunted and walked away. Has anyone else gotten unsolicited advice from a stranger that made zero sense for the job?

Bumped into a buddy last week who was trying to fix a fence after watching that same video you mentioned @the_jordan. He ended up nailing his thumbprint into a two-by-four because he was holding the nail gun like a hammer. Took him an hour to get the dang thing off. His thumb still looks like a cartoon character's.
