Sharkbites are fine for a temp fix or if you're in a real pinch, but I wouldn't call them a permanent solution on copper. You can't just slap one on rusted or out of round pipe and expect it to hold for years. That rubber O-ring is going to wear out eventually, and when it does, you're going to have a wet mess in your wall. Soldering takes practice but it's a one and done deal that actually bonds with the pipe. For what those fittings cost, you could buy a torch and a roll of solder and do it right.

Yeah those things are a lifesaver when you're in a tight spot.
