Spent $80 on a tile cutter and it barely paid for itself on one bathroom floor

I thought I was being smart buying a cheap manual tile cutter from the big box store for my bathroom reno. First 3 cuts were fine then it started chipping everything on the 45s. Ended up having to rent a wet saw from the tool library for $35 a day anyway. The cheap cutter just sits in my truck now taking up space. Anyone else have a tool they thought would save money but ended up costing more in the long run?

Oh man that tile cutter story hits close to home. I bought this rechargeable caulk gun off Amazon because I was doing all the baseboards in my house and thought it would save me from hand cramping. Thing jammed on the third tube, started leaking caulk everywhere, and I had to use a screwdriver to pry the plunger back. Then the battery died halfway through the bathroom and it took 4 hours to charge. Ended up finishing with a dollar store manual gun that worked fine and cost less than the replacement battery would have. Now that fancy caulk gun is in the garage next to my broken paint sprayer that I thought would be faster than rollers.

That dollar store manual gun saving the day says it all, doesn't it? I got burned the same way with a "pro grade" caulk gun that was supposed to be the best thing ever, and it failed on me in the first hour. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better and you learn the hard way not to overthink it.
