Shoutout to the guy at Lowe's who saved me $200 on my bathroom tile project
Last weekend I was picking out tile for my guest bathroom and this older employee walked by while I was staring at some really expensive marble-look porcelain. He asked what I was doing and I told him I was trying to match it to my vanity. He pointed me to a ceramic tile on the clearance rack that was 3 dollars a square foot instead of 8. It's the exact same color and the install was way easier since ceramic cuts cleaner than porcelain with my wet saw. Has anyone else had a random store employee totally change their project budget like that?

My buddy Tom in Phoenix laid that same Home Depot tile in his whole kitchen. Looked great for about 3 years. Then one day he walked in and found three tiles popped up near the fridge. Another two by the sink. Said the grout just crumbled like sand. He ended up ripping it all out and paying double for real porcelain.
