My pressure washer pump seized up after 2 years of light use... I'm calling BS on the maintenance routine

Used to be one of those guys who'd just let the pump sit with water in it over winter too. Thought it was all hype from manufacturers trying to sell you expensive pump saver fluid or whatever. But after seeing a neighbor go through two pumps in three years and finally spending the twenty bucks on a bottle of that stuff, his third one is still going strong. Made me rethink my whole approach, now I flush with RV antifreeze every fall and I haven't had a problem since. Those little maintenance steps really do make a difference, even if it feels like a pain at the time.

A single bottle of antifreeze isn't magic, you can just drain the pump.
