My first tool was a hand-me-down hammer, and it shaped how I see home projects
I got my dad's old hammer when I was ten. We used it to build a birdhouse together. Back then, projects were slow and full of mistakes. Now, with electric tools, everything is faster. But I think we lose some of the feel for the work. Taking time to measure and cut by hand taught me care. I still use that hammer for small jobs, just to remember.

Ever try using a wrench for small finish work? A hammer and a wrench are different tools for different jobs. My dad's hammer is light and balanced for driving nails into trim. A wrench is for nuts and bolts, not for setting a picture hook or tapping a joint tight. You use the right tool for the task.

Heard a guy once cracked his wrench trying to hammer a nail.
