My dad casually told me I've been hanging drywall backwards for 10 years
He watched me tape a corner joint and just goes 'you're supposed to score the paper first, not after.' I fixed a whole basement ceiling this weekend with that one tip, has anyone else had a parent drop a bomb like that on something you thought you knew?

Laughing at myself for 10 years of wrong hanging. Guess I was just making modern art before I knew it.

Wait, so you were putting the tape up dry and then mudding over it without scoring the paper first? That had to be a nightmare getting those bubbles out, tbh. Honestly, scoring the paper lets the mud bite into the tape so it doesn't just float on top. Ngl, your dad saved you a ton of frustration and probably a few re-dos over the years.
