Caulking my windows changed my mind about draft proofing.

I used to think only new windows could stop drafts in my old house. After I caulked the frames myself, the rooms felt warmer and my bills went down. What simple fixes have you tried that saved you money?

Oh man, I was totally the same way! I put off caulking for years thinking it was just a tiny band-aid. Last fall I finally did all my windows and the difference was insane, like night and day. I even did that cheap foam weather stripping around the drafty back door. Honestly those two things together probably saved me more than any fancy upgrade. Feels good to fix it yourself for basically pocket change.

Thought caulking was useless. Changed my mind fast.

Why do we all act like caulk is just decorative goop until it magically fixes our houses? I went from skeptic to believer so fast it's embarrassing (my windows were basically just fancy screens). Total game-changer for about ten bucks.
