Can we talk about the warning I got on the pressure treated lumber at Home Depot yesterday?
I overheard a contractor telling the yard guy that a specific batch of 2x6s (look for a green stamp with 2024) was treated too wet and would warp bad after a week. He showed me a stack that already had cupping and he said he refused delivery on a whole job site last month. Anyone else ever have a whole deck go crooked because of bad wood right off the pallet?

Buddy of mine rebuilt his whole porch twice because of wet lumber.

TWO TIMES? Oh wow @hugo_nelson, that is just BRUTAL. I can't even imagine the frustration of doing all that work and then watching it warp or rot out a second time. That lumber yard should be ASHAMED for selling wet wood without a warning label or something. Your buddy must have the patience of a saint because I would have lost my MIND after the first rebuild. I've seen what happens when you dry wet lumber too fast, all those cracks and splits are a NIGHTMARE. Seriously, that guy deserves a medal for not just burning the whole porch down and starting fresh with concrete.

Yeah the "patience of a saint" thing @adams.vera, that's exactly what I was thinking. I've seen guys just give up and pour concrete after one bad lumber experience, but two times is unreal. The lumber yard should've labeled that wood as green or warned people, but they just push it out the door. Cracking and splitting from drying too fast is bad enough, but warping is just a whole different level of frustration. Your buddy must have some serious dedication, I would've just burned it all down and started fresh with composite decking or something.
