Bought a fancy caulk gun for $30 and it made my job worse
Saw this expensive smooth rod caulk gun at the hardware store and thought it would save me time on baseboards. Spent $30 on it, got home, and the rod kept slipping so the caulk came out in globs. My old $5 gun from a junk drawer actually does a way better job. Anyone else get tricked by fancy tools that just complicate things?

Spend more and get less, that's how tool companies get you.

C'mon, is it really that big of a deal? A little glob here and there, you just scrape it off with your thumb. I've used those fancy smooth rod guns on a few jobs and sure, sometimes they slip, but you just gotta squeeze the trigger a certain way. If your old $5 gun works fine then why even buy the expensive one and get upset about it? It's just caulk, not brain surgery.
