That glowing review of the new Zelda game had me scratching my head

I saw someone say the new Zelda title was a 10/10 masterpiece and talked about how the combat system was flawless. But I played it for around 8 hours last weekend and found the enemy variety super repetitive, like fighting the same 3 dudes over and over. The open world felt empty to me compared to older games in the series. Am I missing something or did anyone else find the hype a bit overblown on this one?

Wait, did we play the same game? I totally agree with you, man. That combat system everyone raves about got old fast once I realized I was just fighting the same three or four enemies in every single shrine and field. And the open world felt more like a big empty parking lot than the dense, layered world we got in Breath of the Wild. @rose_grant78 your restaurant menu comparison cracked me up, that's exactly what that review felt like. I remember spending an hour just walking from one point to another and finding nothing interesting, just another copy-pasted camp. The hype really had me expecting something special, but by hour 8 I was already bored and putting the controller down. Take this with a grain of salt, but I'd say your gut feeling is right on the money.

That first review felt like reading a menu at an overpriced restaurant.
