Why does nobody talk about the difference a proper undercut makes on thick, wavy hair?

I had a client with hair down to her shoulders who hated the bulk, so I gave her a hidden undercut last month, and she just came back saying it cut her drying time in half and the shape finally holds without weighing her face down.

Undercuts are the secret cheat code for thick hair. My hair stylist is basically a wizard for suggesting one.

Disagree hard on this one, nina_harris39. Got talked into an undercut years ago and it was a total trap for thick hair. The shaved part grows back in a week looking like weird prickly stubble, so you're stuck getting it shaved again every two weeks. It just adds another annoying chore and expense. The real cheat code is finding a stylist who knows how to properly thin hair out with shears, no wizard tricks needed.
