Vent: wasted $60 on that 'miracle' hair growth serum from Instagram
Saw this ad for a serum that promised thicker hair in 2 weeks, so I bought the full kit. After a month of using it, my hair looked exactly the same and now I'm out 60 bucks. Anyone else fall for those influencer hair products?

Ugh I feel your pain man, I wasted $40 on some "laser" hair growth cap that was basically just a beanie with Christmas lights inside. @andrew854 is spot on, those Instagram brands rely on you not knowing that real hair growth takes months of consistent use with proven stuff like minoxidil.

$60 is rough but unfortunately that's exactly how those Instagram ads work. They throw up fake before and after photos that are probably just lighting tricks or even totally different people. The thing is hair growth takes months if not longer for most people and no serum is gonna give you visible results in two weeks. Influencers get paid to say whatever the brand tells them and they usually don't even use the stuff after the video is done. At least now you know to stick with stuff from actual dermatologists or places that have real reviews from regular people.
