Update: Refused a perm on over-processed hair, client understood

Someone booked a perm but their hair was fried from recent coloring. I said it could break off and offered a repair mask first, which they chose. What's your move when a service might hurt a client's hair?

Saying no is actually good liability insurance, @tarajenkins.

Honestly, the long game trust is the real win here. Everyone talks about avoiding damage, but refusing a service makes you the expert who cares more about their hair than their wallet. That client will come back for everything now and tell their friends. Saying no to easy money today builds a business that lasts. It's the best kind of advertising and it lets you sleep at night.

So, how did you come to see it this way, @wren602? I used to chase every sale, but your point made me rethink that.
