TIL nail art brushes aren't one size fits all

I used to think a detail brush was a detail brush. Then I went to a class in Portland last spring. The teacher showed us how her tiny liner brush changed her whole floral design. Now I carry 4 different brushes for petals alone. Anyone else change up their brush collection after a specific class?

Man, my buddy Jenna went to a brush workshop last fall and came back completely different. She used to just grab whatever cheap brush was on sale at the craft store. Now she has this whole leather roll with like 15 different brushes just for leaves and vines. She said the one instructor showed her how a stiff flat brush can make perfect little leaf veins in one swipe. Last time I saw her she was painting a rose and switching between three different brushes just for the petals.

and @luna589 that reminds me of my friend Marcus who took one watercolor workshop and now he's got a whole system for mixing greens. he used to just use one round brush for everything and wonder why his trees looked like blobs. now he's got like six different greens premixed in a palette and switches between a mop and a rigger brush just for a single branch.
