Shoutout to the girl who told me to wet my brushes before using acrylic paint

For like a year I was wondering why my brush strokes looked all stiff and patchy when I was doing nail art. This customer comes in last Tuesday, sees me fighting with a dry brush, and goes 'you gotta wet it first, just a little.' I thought she was nuts because I always learned dry brush is the way for detail work. But I tried it on a set of acrylics for a birthday party and the difference was night and day. The paint laid down way smoother and I didn't have those annoying little clumps. Now I'm second guessing every other habit I picked up in beauty school. Has anyone else had a random customer teach you something that actually stuck?

Oh man, I feel this so hard @spencer_hayes71. I used to be one of those people who thought you had to use a ton of paint and just keep going over and over a spot. I was always fighting with brush strokes and wasting so much product. Then a buddy showed me how a light touch and good quality paint actually works better, and it was like a light bulb went off. Now I barely use half the paint I used to, and the finish is way smoother. Funny how you can do something for years and miss the obvious, right?
