PSA: that $15 hair oil at TJ Maxx is actually legit
I was super skeptical about some random argan oil blend I grabbed on a whim from the clearance rack in Phoenix last month. Turned out it's the same brand salons around here charge $45 for, just with different packaging. Been using it on my clients with dry ends and it actually smooths them out way better than my usual go-to. Has anyone else found hidden gems at discount stores that work as good as the expensive stuff?

Wait, is that actually a known salon brand or just a generic knockoff with nice packaging? I grabbed a similar "bargain" argan oil from a discount store last year and it left my hair feeling greasy and weighed down, plus it had a weird chemical smell that hung around all day. The ingredient list was full of silicones (which I try to avoid) and the first ingredient was some random silicone, not actual argan oil. My stylist friend warned me that discount stores often buy up expired or reformulated products, so what looks like a steal could just be old stock that lost its potency.
