My mentor told me I was buffing too hard and it clicked finally

I had a conversation with my old instructor from beauty school last week, and she said I was grinding my nails into the surface instead of letting the buffer do the work. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been overcomplicating a basic technique for months?

BUFFING TOO HARD was my FIRST big lesson in woodworking with power tools. Kept burning the wood and couldn't figure out why until a buddy watched me pressing down like I was trying to dig a hole. Let the tool do the work and everything changed overnight.

That pressure thing is such a trap for beginners lol. We all think more force equals better results with power tools and it's almost never true. Your buddy saved you a ton of ruined wood there. Featherweight touch on the buffer changed my game completely too. Live and learn!
