My brand new foiling boards started peeling after just 3 uses

I spent $60 on these fancy teal foiling boards from a beauty supply shop downtown. After only three sessions the top layer started bubbling up and peeling off like cheap stickers. I was so mad because I prep my clients hair carefully and these boards just look nasty now. I tried using a little nail glue to stick the peeling parts back down but it only held for like a day. Honestly I should have just stuck with my old cardboard ones that lasted me six months. Has anyone else had this happen with the newer plastic coated boards or did I just get a bad batch?

Man that nail glue fix is a total bummer, I would have tried the same thing and been just as let down. Those plastic coated boards seem to have a cheap glue layer that just can't handle any moisture or heat from the hair prep process. It really feels like they cut corners on the bonding process to keep the price low.

Wait, you're telling me sanding the surface is the fix? I've never once thought to rough up a plastic coated board before gluing, but that actually makes a lot of sense when you say it. Is that trick common knowledge that I just missed out on, or am I not alone in skipping that step?

You gotta push back a little here, man. I've actually had pretty decent luck with those plastic coated boards, but it's all about how you prep them. Sanding the surface just a tiny bit with some fine grit paper before you do anything else makes a world of difference. Most folks skip that step and go straight to the glue, but you need to give the adhesive something to bite into. The cheap glue layer isn't the real problem, it's that smooth plastic finish that nothing wants to stick to in the first place.
