Just realized my bleach mix was way too hot for a client's hair

I was in my station in Tacoma and saw the color processing way too fast, turning the ends to mush. I had to rinse it out immediately and do a protein treatment to save what was left. Has anyone else had a bleach batch react like that from being mixed with water that was too warm?

That "overdrive" thing @jesse4 mentioned is no joke, I've seen it melt hair.

Yeah, I read that warm water can make the bleach way more aggressive... scary stuff.

Last summer I had a batch go hot like that and it fried a section. What @jesse4 said is right, warm water just kicks it into overdrive. I keep a thermometer in my drawer now to check the mix water every time.
