Heads up about that new clear gloss gel everyone's using

I used it on a client's nails and within two weeks, the color underneath turned a weird yellow shade. Has anyone else seen this happen with certain base coats?

Yeah, that yellowing is a real thing. I've seen it happen with cheaper gel lines, especially the ones that smell really strong. It's like the whole layer goes jaundice. Sticking with one brand helps, but even then, some of the super clear top coats just seem to react over time. Makes a French manicure look like you've been a heavy smoker for twenty years.

That weird yellow shade thing is a known issue with some gel formulas. I read it can happen when the top layer isn't fully cured and reacts with the color. Sticking with the same brand system for base, color, and top coat usually avoids it.
