Finally got my first solo client after 3 months of assisting
I was so nervous I dropped my comb twice during the consultation, but the color came out exactly how she wanted. Has anyone else had those shaky first few appointments?

Oh man, the shaky hands thing is SO real! I still get a little nervous sometimes but it gets way better. Pro tip: keep your tools on a towel not the counter so if you drop them they land soft and don't break. Also take a deep breath before you start applying the color, it helps steady your hand. The fact that you matched her color perfectly on your first solo is huge, that means you've got the eye for it. Most of the job is just confidence and practice, and the more you do it the less you'll shake. You got this.

Oh wow, that's awesome! I think people don't talk enough about how those shaky moments actually help you build muscle memory for the real thing. Dropping your comb twice means you'll probably never drop it on a big wedding day or something. And here's something nobody mentioned - that nervous energy can actually make you more careful with the color application, so you double check everything. Your first solo client is like a test run for your own instincts, and passing means you can finally trust yourself.

Ngl that first solo client feeling is something else. Dropping the comb is basically a rite of passage in this industry, I swear half of us have done that. What was the consultation like when you realized the color matched? Did she say anything after you finished that made you feel like all the nerves were worth it.
