Dropped $340 on a lash extension course at a hotel in Reno, learned more from a free YouTube video in my kitchen
The instructor spent 3 hours on theory and 45 minutes on the actual hands-on part. She rushed through isolation like it was a race. Then she tried to sell us a $600 kit on the way out. A girl next to me whispered that she learned the same set from a channel called Lash Anon for free. Went home, watched it, practiced on a mannequin head for two nights. My sets look better now than anything that class showed me. Has anyone found a certification that was actually worth the fee?
Thought the price tag meant something when I first got into this. Paid $500 for a cert class thinking it would give me a leg up, and honestly the test was multiple choice and the practical part was easier than what I do on a random Tuesday. The kit they pushed was marked up so bad it still makes me mad. What actually made me better was drilling isolation on a mannequin for a week straight and watching free videos until the steps stuck in my head. A cert is just paper, the reps are what count. Save the money for good glue and practice time.
