A client told me my blending looked muddy so I switched to a smaller brush for shadow work

After she pointed out the colors were all bleeding together near her crease, I swapped my fluffy dome brush for a tapered crease brush and the difference was immediate - has anyone else found that tool size matters more than technique sometimes?

Honestly a year ago I wouldve said technique is everything but this post changed my mind. Used to think my fluffy brush was fine for everything but now I see how much the tool itself matters. Tapered crease brush made blending way cleaner for me too when I finally tried it. The bristle density and size really does control where the pigment goes. Sometimes switching brushes fixes things faster than practicing more.

Wait did you have to totally change how you hold your brush too or just swap sizes?
