Picked up a thermal camera at a shop in Portland last month
I was helping a buddy troubleshoot his gaming rig at a lan party in Portland and he pulled out a cheap thermal camera. We found a failing VRM that was hitting 110°C while the rest of the board looked fine. Has anyone else used one of these for diagnosing weird intermittent crashes?

Figured out a bad solder joint on my truck's ECU that way. The camera showed a cold spot where the connection was barely making contact. Never would have found it with a multimeter since the resistance was fine when the board was cold. It's one of those tools you don't realize you need until you have it.

My brother used one and found out his cat was secretly sleeping on the router at night.
