Found a free bootable USB tool that fixed my boot loop in 10 minutes

Had a client's Dell OptiPlex stuck in a boot loop after a Windows update bricked it. Tried the usual stuff, restore points, safe mode, nothing worked. Then I remembered this little free utility called Hiren's BootCD PE. Booted from USB, ran the registry fix tool, and it was back up in under 10 minutes. Client thought I was a wizard. Anyone else use Hiren's for quick fixes like that or got a better free option?

Booted from USB, ran the registry fix tool" lmao that's exactly what I do with Hiren's, it's saved my ass too many times.

@jason524 has good luck with Hiren's and I get it, it's a solid tool. But I actually see it a bit different honestly. Hiren's is a swiss army knife for sure but sometimes it's overkill for a simple boot loop. I had a Dell last month where Hiren's registry fix did nothing because the issue was a bad driver install not the registry. Ended up using the Windows install media bootable USB and doing a startup repair three times in a row and that finally got it going. Windows own built in tools on the install drive have fixed more boot loops for me than Hiren's ever has. Not saying Hiren's is bad, it's great when the registry is actually the problem, but I've seen people grab Hiren's first when plain old Windows recovery would've been faster. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

...and that's the thing about IT work, it's like car mechanics where everyone thinks their specialty tool is the cure-all but really you gotta match the fix to the actual problem. @derek_ramirez makes a good point about Windows recovery being faster when the registry ain't the issue, I've had days where I wasted an hour with Hiren's on a bad driver when a simple startup repair would've done it in 5 minutes. The bigger pattern I see is people reaching for the flashiest tool first instead of working through the basics, which just makes simple problems take longer than they should.
