Customer in Spokane kept refusing updates, then blamed me for his dead SSD
Guy brings in a 2017 laptop last month, I quote $120 for a new SSD and clone, he says no, wants to keep his old drive. He picks it up, comes back three weeks later screaming that I broke his machine because the drive finally died with his photos on it. How do you guys handle clients who decline the fix and then come back furious when the original problem gets worse?

I heard a data recovery guy on a podcast say that if a customer turns down a fix, you should write it down on the receipt and have them sign it. That way, when they come back later, you can just point to their signature and say this was your call. It does not stop them from being mad, but it stops them from having a leg to stand on.
