Three years ago I took a free coding class at the library downtown and it landed me a junior developer job last month.

I just walked into the local library branch on Main Street out of boredom and now I'm making 55k a year - has anyone else had a random community class actually change their whole career path?

My buddy took a pottery class and now runs a studio.

Glad your buddy didn't just end up with a lopsided mug and a new hobby, @rileyl98. That's a pretty wild jump from a weekend class to running a whole studio though. I bet he's got some crazy stories about kiln disasters or people trying to make "functional art" that's just a lump. Honestly, pottery seems like one of those things that's either super relaxing or a complete nightmare with no middle ground. Is he actually making money or just drowning in clay dust and existential dread?
