The way people answer 'what do you do' at networking events drives me nuts
I went to a career mixer in Portland last month and noticed almost everyone leads with their job title instead of what they actually accomplish. A guy told me he was a 'senior data analyst' and I still had no idea what he even does day to day. It matters because people remember stories and results, not labels. Has anyone else found it easier to just say something specific like 'I help clinics reduce patient wait times' instead of your official title?

Oh man, that data analyst thing is so real... like are you looking at spreadsheets all day or actually solving problems for people? I went to a tech meetup in Seattle and this guy kept saying he was a "solutions architect" and I literally had to ask him three times what that meant. It's way easier when someone just says "I help clinics cut down wait times" or "I make sure websites don't crash during big sales." Titles just feel like walls sometimes, you know?

Started saying "I help local shops run their ads" and conversations got way easier.
