The coding bootcamp I mocked my coworker for actually got him a job

My coworker Dave dropped $12,000 on a 12-week bootcamp last year and I told him he was throwing money away. Six months later he got a junior dev role at a fintech company making $70k starting. Has anyone else seen bootcamps actually work out for people they know?

My buddy's bootcamp got him a remote gig paying 80k.

I mean that's pretty solid for a first gig out of bootcamp honestly. I did a similar program a couple years back and got out making 65k but it was fully remote too so that helped a ton with saving on rent and commute. The key for me was really grinding on the job search after the camp, sending out like 30 apps a week and doing a bunch of practice interviews until I got comfortable talking about the projects I built.
