My meeting with a retired teacher changed how I see skill gaps
Had coffee with a retired teacher from Austin last weekend, she's 68 and taught math for 30 years. She said most students can solve problems but freeze when the steps aren't spelled out, and that stuck with me because my coworkers do the same thing at work. We hire folks with fancy degrees but nobody can troubleshoot when the playbook fails. Is this something you've noticed in your field too, or is it just the education system?
