Can we talk about paying $350 for a CPR class that my job made me take
So my manager signed me up for a CPR and first aid cert through a private training place near the mall, and it ran me $350 out of my own pocket because the company "forgot" to cover it in the budget. I figured fine, it looks good on a resume and I work with kids at a rec center so it made sense. Class was about 5 hours on a Saturday and half of it was watching videos we could have pulled up on YouTube for free. But here is the thing, two weeks later a kid really did choke on a grape at snack time and I knew exactly what to do because of that class, so I guess it paid for itself in a weird way. Now I am wondering if the $60 online course with an in person skills check would have been just as good, because a bunch of my coworkers went that route. Has anyone here done the cheap online version and actually felt ready when it mattered?
