Watching my mentor develop carpal tunnel changed how I knead bread dough

Bakers must admit that ignoring repetitive strain injuries is costing us our craft in the long run.

Ever tried using a dough scraper like @jesse4 said, saves your wrists.

That's a really sobering thing to witness. Seeing the long-term physical cost up close makes you rethink your own habits for sure. Finding gentler methods is just smart self-preservation.

Yeah, really hits home when you see someone older dealing with constant pain from years of the same work. Makes you stop and look at how you're using your own body, like maybe that weird way you bend to lift something or gripping tools too hard. Totally get why @joseph614 swears by the dough scraper now, it's those little changes that add up. I've caught myself holding my breath while doing stuff and my back will be killing me later, you know? Just makes you realize you gotta find those easier ways to do things before it's too late.
