Just realized I've baked over 500 sourdough loaves from my starter
I named it 'Bubbles' three years ago and it's still going strong. Has anyone else hit a number that made you stop and think?

Wait, do you track exact numbers? I just go by "a lot" lol. For me, I stopped counting the loaves and just focused on how much flour I was going through. Once I realized I was buying 25kg bags every month, that really put it in perspective. And hey, @gracea19 is totally right, a kilo is a kilo no matter how you slice it. Smaller loaves just mean more baking days for me, I'll take it.

Count your loaves by weight, not number. A 500g batard and a 1kg miche both count as one.

Ugh, this is so true. I used to get so mad at myself for only baking smaller loaves, like it didn't count. Honestly, a kilo of dough is a kilo of dough, whether it's one big ball or two smaller ones. It's the same amount of work, just shaped different. We gotta stop being so hard on ourselves about the numbers.
